    Description

    Royal Vienna Style Hand Painted Chrysanthemum Lady Cherubs Cobalt Portrait Plate
    Beautiful scalloped edge porcelain cabinet plate. Decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a hand painted portrait of a woman with dark hair holding a vase full of pink, white, yellow, and purple chrysanthemum flowers. The scene is framed by heavy gold gilding with raised gold along the inner rim. Has a cobalt blue border with gold beaded vignettes with hand painted cherubs. In between are gold bands with raised gold figural heads and scrollwork and white enamel beading. Gold gilding along the edge.  Signed by the artist. Marked on the reverse with an underglaze blue beehive/shield mark. Also marked with the name Chrysanthemum. Late 19th or early 20th century.
    Has some wear to the gilding and a few losses to the beading, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches wide.
